Solidaritea with Sudan Iftar Fundrasier

​Solidaritea for Sudan is an immersive Iftar fundraiser bringing together Sudanese, Palestinian, and Lebanese poets for powerful readings followed by a panel on how poetry operates as a medium of resistance within diaspora and outside occupied and oppressed lands.

​Our amazing venue PYO chai, a south Asian owned restaurant cafe, has a delicious menu lined up featuring sandwiches, burgers, momos, boba, and croffles. We’ll have an art market featuring Sudanese photographers and artists, as well as a henna station and Sudanese Youth Network merch. 

​This event is fundraising for displaced Sudanese refugees in Uganda with Droplets of Mercy and the Islamic Center of New York City. We invite you to gather in community and show up in solidarity for those in urgent need.
