A Tribute to Yan Morvan | Paris Potos

On est heureux de vous présenter PARIS POTOS, une collaboration de quartier entre les voisins The Analog Club et le Floréal Belleville, qui se déroulera au Floréal Belleville du 10 au 15 novembre, avec deux événements différents (événement 1 - événement 2).
Pour commencer, on vous invite à plonger dans les archives de Yan Morvan (1954–2024 / @archivesyanmorvan), figure incontournable du photojournalisme français. Une sélection d'archives inédites sera présentée sous forme de projections de diapositives, accompagnée d'une vingtaine de magazines grand format, chacun consacré à une série différente de Yan, de livres par @independentpaper, ainsi que de tirages photographiques.
L'occasion de découvrir des archives photographiques exceptionnelles et de se retrouver autour d'un verre. Et si vous ne pouvez pas assister au vernissage, le tout restera visible au Floréal Belleville jusqu’au 12 novembre.
Au cours d’une carrière de cinq décennies, Morvan a documenté plus de 20 conflits à travers le monde, du Liban à l’Irlande du Nord, en passant par l’Afghanistan et le Rwanda. Mais son travail allait bien au-delà des zones de guerre. Il s’intéressait tout autant aux marges de la société, photographiant des bandes de motards, des punks, des communautés underground et des personnes dont les vies étaient rarement mises en lumière.

We’re happy to introduce PARIS POTOS, a friendly neighborhood collaboration between The Analog Club and the Floréal Belleville, that will happen at Floréal Belleville from November 10th to November 15th with two different exhibitions (event 1 - event 2)
We’re starting with a focus on the archives of Yan Morvan (1954-2024 / @archivesyanmorvan), one of the most important figures in French photojournalism. A selection of unreleased archives will be shown through slide projections, accompanied by 20 large-format magazines, each dedicated to a different series, independent publications by @independentpaper and photographic prints. An evening to discover an extraordinary photographic archive, get together over a drink, and share our love of photography with the neighborhood. And if you can't make it for the opening, the exhibition will remain on display at Floréal Belleville until November 12.
Over a career spanning five decades, Yan Morvan documented more than 20 conflicts around the world, from Lebanon and Northern Ireland to Afghanistan and Rwanda. But his work extended far beyond the front lines. He was equally drawn to the fringes of society, photographing biker gangs, punks, underground communities, and people whose lives were rarely given the spotlight.
