Arts After Hours: Students, Alumni & Industry Mixer
A Gathering of the Waterloo Arts Ecosystem
Behind every great venture, policy, or creative breakthrough is a thinker who knows how to navigate the human experience.
Arts After Hours is a curated evening dedicated to the people who started right here.
We are bringing together 150+ members of our community - from distinguished faculty and seasoned industry leaders to the next generation of emerging talent - to celebrate the non-linear, high-impact trajectories of a Waterloo Arts degree.
The Atmosphere
We’ve designed the evening to be as intellectually stimulating as it is welcoming.
Intentional Connection: Skip the transactional small talk. We’re using Networking Bingo and curated conversation games to help bypass the small talk and get straight to the stories that matter.
The Human Element: A brief, sophisticated keynote on "Humans + AI: Better Together." We’ll explore why human insight and critical empathy - the hallmarks of an Arts education - are increasingly the most vital assets in a tech-driven landscape.
Good Food, Better Company: Enjoy refreshments and appetizers while drifting between circles.
Who’s in the Room?
Our guest list spans decades of experience, but everyone shares the same Waterloo Arts roots:
Alumni who have turned their degrees into leadership roles in Finance, Tech, Law, Marketing, Research and the Public Sector.
Professors and researchers who are still pushing the boundaries of what the Arts can solve.
Ambitious students and recent grads who aren't just here to listen; they are bringing fresh perspectives, tech-native insights, and the same drive that built the careers of the alumni in the room.
The Invitation
Come to reconnect with the roots of your career, find a mentor who speaks your language, or simply enjoy a night of high-vibe conversation with the people who define the Waterloo Arts legacy.
Your degree was the starting line. See how far it has taken us.
About ARBUS Society
The University of Waterloo Arts and Business Society (ARBUS Society) is the official student-led organization representing a network of over 2,000 past, current, and future students in the Honours Arts and Business program — one of the most interdisciplinary and career-focused undergraduate programs at UWaterloo.
We empower students to apply the critical thinking and creativity of the arts with the practical, strategic mindset of business. Through events, workshops, mentorship programs, and industry partnerships, we help our peers explore meaningful career pathways, build community, and gain confidence navigating both co-op and new-grad opportunities.
