We’re pleased to welcome you to our Community Circle in Southern California. This in-person gathering at UCLA is designed to bring together students and alumni of Iranian heritage for an evening rooted in connection, shared experience, and meaningful conversation.
This Community Circle will feature a panel of distinguished Iranian-American professionals across healthcare and engineering, offering insight into their career paths, key milestones, and the evolving landscape of their fields. The conversation will explore how innovation, interdisciplinary work, and diverse perspectives are shaping the future of medicine, technology, and research.
Our panelists bring decades of experience and impact:
• Hessam Nowzari: Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Co-Founder of the Taipei Academy of Reconstructive Dentistry, with extensive contributions to dental education and over 150 research publications.
• Behzad Razavi: Professor of Electrical Engineering at UCLA and member of the National Academy of Engineering, widely recognized for his work in circuits, systems, and engineering education, with 200+ publications and multiple textbooks used globally.
• Bijan Najafi: Professor of Surgery at UCLA and Research Director at CASIT, leading advancements in digital health, wearable technology, and telemedicine to expand access to care.
• Jason Roostaeian: Board-certified plastic surgeon and Clinical Professor at UCLA, specializing in facial aesthetics, with over 100 publications and national recognition, including being named among Newsweek’s Best Plastic Surgeons.
