The Art of Childlike Wonder - A Clay Family Event
For kids ages 6–10 and their caregivers.
Every artist has a medium. Frida had paint, Sappho had poetry, and GTM has Clay. At this event, we'll tap into the greatest medium of all time: Mother Nature!
Come rediscover your surroundings with the true experts of childlike wonder — the kids themselves — and painter, outdoor educator, and SF native Elizabeth Grunsky.
Adults will have their own picnic with snacks, beverages, and access to binoculars and magnifying glasses, but can also participate in any of the experiences below.

Welcome & Play (30 min)
🫧Bubbles, music, and silly name games to spark connection.
Redwood Discovery (50 min)
🌲Outdoor science lesson: explore crystals & minerals, then dive into some nature games.
Lab & Snack (45 min)
✨Interactive science lab followed by snacks and social time.
Garden Art & Closing (55 min)
🌹Paint or sculpt in the rose garden, then take home your art, crystals, and explorer tools.

Capacity for this event is limited to 10 kids with one guardian for each.
