About Event

We are witnessing an unprecedented explosion of faith-based efforts emerging across communities worldwide, as religious and spiritual traditions mobilize to address contemporary challenges. From climate activism rooted in creation care to technology ethics grounded in human dignity, faith communities are increasingly stepping into spaces traditionally dominated by secular approaches. With a range of regional and global crises demanding urgent attention, how can these growing faith-driven movements effectively address our most pressing challenges?

We will examine:

  • How can faith perspectives inform ethical AI development and deployment to ensure technology serves human flourishing?

  • What role do spiritual traditions play in reimagining food systems?

  • How can values-driven approaches to sustainable development create more equitable and lasting solutions?

  • How can religious communities become powerful advocates for biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration?

  • Why do faith-based approaches to these global challenges often struggle to gain traction in secular policy spaces, and how can we bridge this gap authentically?

Speakers:

  • Soulaima Gourani, World Economic Forum Faith in Action Council

  • Naveena Neerada Das, Akshaya Patra Foundation

  • Steve Chiu, Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation

  • Martha Jarvis, Anglican Communion
