AI Risk – A Conversation We All Need to Have
As the world rushes toward the development of AGI, a type of artificial intelligence that can compete with or out-compete humans across all domains, most of the population who will not directly benefit from this have been asking the question: what are the risks?
Artificial intelligence is advancing faster than most of us can keep up with, and with it come questions about power, safety, and the future of human decision-making. This event aims to create space for an open conversation on these exact topics.
We will begin with a short talk introducing what “AI risk” really means, from the immediate concerns to the long-term, existential questions, followed by group discussions where everyone can share thoughts, worries, and ideas for what responsible AI development and policy might look like.
Whether you are completely new to the topic or already involved in AI safety, this is a space to talk openly, ask questions, and think together about what comes next and what each of us can do.
This is not a conversation that should reside in the hands of the few; it is something we all need to take part in.
Pizza/snacks/drinks will be provided for free.
