About Event

This session investigates how visual systems can directly generate sound, shifting the relationship between image and audio. Instead of synchronising sound to visuals, participants will design systems where changes in moving images trigger and shape sound in real time. Through TouchDesigner and Ableton Live, the session explores how visual parameters such as motion, density, and transformation can be translated into sonic events. The focus is on building a feedback structure between what is seen and what is heard, allowing visual behaviour to become an active driver of sound.

Tools: TouchDesigner, Ableton Live (free trial)

Note: Planning to use Ableton Live to introduce an intuitive and accessible workflow for connecting visual systems to sound. Alternative tools such as Max/MSP or VCV Rack will be briefly mentioned for further exploration.

Outcome: A real-time system where visual behaviour generates and modulates sound.
