AI Breakfast: Moat or Myth? The Real Value of Data in the Age of AI
Join us for the next AI Breakfast — Berlin's largest AI networking event series.
When Spirit Airlines went bankrupt this summer, one of its most contested assets was its data. Google outbid rivals for millions of the airline’s internal emails and chat messages to train its models. Meanwhile in New York, a Munich-based startup is handing out free apartment cleanings, on the condition that the cleaners can film every move, so robots can learn the job.
Data has become one of the most hunted resources in AI and “Data is the new oil” has been repeated for a decade. But as models get better and synthetic data gets cheaper, what’s actually true? Does the value sit in proprietary datasets, in expert labeling, in the messy real-world data, or in the decades of process data inside Europe’s traditional businesses? And are data moats real, or just a comforting story?
At our November AI Breakfast, we bring together founders who collect, sell, simulate and build on data to unpack where its value really lies.
Panelists will be shared soon!
