BC4EU webinar | Blockchain‑Enabled Digital Product Passports for Circular Supply Chains
Event details
Date: Tuesday 9 June
Time: 15:00 to 16:15 CET
Format: Online webinar
Blockchain for Europe is organising a webinar focused on the application of blockchain‑enabled Digital Product Passports (DPPs) in the agriculture sector.
Building on the insights from the “Blockchain‑Enabled Digital Product Passports for Circular Supply Chains” paper, developed with Fraunhofer IML, the session will explore how DPPs are evolving from a policy concept to a practical data layer underpinning EU sustainability, compliance and lifecycle reporting frameworks.
As DPPs become embedded across key EU instruments such as the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), the Battery Regulation, and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), agriculture stands out as a sector where implementation can deliver immediate and tangible value.
Agriculture generates significant operational and environmental data, yet this information remains fragmented across actors. Blockchain‑anchored DPPs offer a way to unify these datasets into a trusted and interoperable system, strengthening traceability, improving transparency and supporting EU objectives for more circular supply chains.
