Join us at our upcoming Skills to Start Event on Wednesday, April 15 at the Red Wing Shoe Store in Philadelphia.

This free, hands-on, community-driven event is designed to spark curiosity and confidence in the trades. Attendees will: 

  • Hear directly from local trades professionals about their career journeys 

    • Ryan Hewitt- Local 401 Iron Worker, 27 years experience, and recent Red Wing Wall of Honor inductee.

    • Karen Masino- Local 98 Master Electrician, Instructor, and head of the Penn Jersey Trades Women Association.

    • Nick D'Amario- Local 542 Operating Engineer and Local Business Owner

    • Chelsea Ryder- Local 158 First year Apprentice Carpenter

  • Connect with training programs, trade schools, and community organizations 

  • Explore real opportunities in a supportive, welcoming environment 

  • Take home free gear and practical tips to help them take their next step 

  • Learn more about our RW Trades Scholarship

  • Free food and beverages are provided 

Our goal is to inspire youth and parents to see the skilled trades as a proud, rewarding career path. 

This event if for students, ages 16-24, to explore the many opportunities available in the skilled trades. This is a panel event and begins at 6 pm.
