Tour of GreenWaste Recovery’s high-diversion Materials Recovery Facility (MRF)

​Come learn more about where all the waste from Trellis Impact is processed for maximum diversion! GreenWaste’s San Jose Materials Recovery Facility was California’s first high-diversion organic waste processing facility. You’ll walk through our single-stream MRF, which takes residential and commercial mixed recyclables and separates them into individual commodities, including cardboard, glass, aluminum, and a variety of plastics. These materials are baled and sent to processors to create new products.

​Important information:

• ​All attendees must be 18 years old and older to attend.

• ​Please wear long pants

• ​Wear closed toe and flat shoes: No open toe shoes, no heels, no sandals, flip flops or any slip-on footwear that may expose any part of the feet. Feet must be covered entirely.

• ​GreenWaste will provide the following PPE gear: safety vests, hard hats, face masks, and goggles.
