Who is it for?
Product designers and design-minded developers who work in Figma and want to get better at building components. This session is best for folks with some hands-on Figma experience, especially those who want to see how others work, share their own approaches, and learn through discussion and demonstration.
Whether you’re early in your career or more experienced, this is a space to learn, share, and grow together.
What will we do?
This session follows a workshop + fireside discussion format designed for shared learning. We’ll start with a guided walkthrough led by Clyde, then open the floor for conversation, attendee input, and optional demos of how others build and manage components in Figma.
🚨Because we value mutual learning, participants are encouraged to ask questions, share workflows, and walk through examples from their own work. You’re welcome to bring components, patterns, or challenges you’re currently working through.🚨

Main Program: Components by the Campfire: Building Better Components

Description:
This collaborative, fireside-style workshop focuses on how designers and developers build better components in Figma. The session begins with a guided lecture on component thinking, structure, and tradeoffs, and then shifts into an open forum where attendees can discuss, compare, and demonstrate real-world approaches.
Rather than prescribing a single “right” way, this workshop creates space to explore different workflows, learn from production experience across teams, and better understand how components evolve in real design systems.
