We are excited to partner with the DevOps + AI Community of Practice, organizers of Ottawa’s largest AWS Community Day!
Sometimes the best ideas begin when you step away from the screen and go for a walk.
Whether you are participating in the DevOps & GenAI Hackathon and want to brainstorm ideas, learn from experienced mentors, and explore possible solutions—or you are not participating but want to learn more about DevOps, Generative AI, cloud, AWS, and technology careers—this walk is for you.
What to Expect
The Tech2Step walk will take place from approximately 6:00–7:00 p.m.
Participants will join small walking groups and connect more personally with AWS Community Day speakers, mentors, builders, engineers, and technology leaders as we journey along the Ottawa River.
Conversations may include:
DevOps, cloud, cybersecurity, and Generative AI
AWS certifications and learning pathways
Modern AWS architectures and platform engineering
AI agents and DevOps automation
Hackathon brainstorming and problem-solving
Breaking into or advancing within the technology industry
Building your professional network and finding mentors
Students, newcomers, career changers, experienced professionals, and anyone curious about AWS and emerging technologies are welcome.
No running is required—just comfortable shoes, fresh ideas, great conversations, and community.

AWS Community Day: Begins at 4:00 p.m.
DevOps & GenAI Hackathon: Begins at 5:30 p.m.
Tech2Step Walk: Approximately 6:00–7:00 p.m.
Meeting Location: Invest Ottawa at Bayview Yards
Format: Small-group walk-and-talk mentorship experience
Hosted by: Tech2Step Ottawa in partnership with the DevOps + AI Community of Practice
Please arrive a few minutes before 6:00 p.m. for mentor introductions, walking-group assignments, and a brief route and safety overview.

What to Bring
Wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for the weather, and bring water.
The walk will take place outdoors, weather permitting. Any important updates will be shared with registered participants.
