But how can a person’s spirit truly be passed on?

To answer this question, we might begin with the life of Shi Dunyu.
这个问题，也许可以从史敦宇的一生开始。
Starting from Dunhuang, Shi Dunyu has spent 70 years creating and persevering — continually bringing an ancient art into the present, and carrying China’s cultural memory ever further into the world.
从敦煌出发，史敦宇用70年的创作与坚持，让古老的艺术不断进入当代，也让属于中国的文化记忆走向更远的地方。
Yet legacy has never been only about “preserving the past.”
但传承从来不只是“把过去保存下来”。
True legacy may begin when the next generation encounters it — and, through their own language, their own creativity, and new technologies and ways of connecting, keeps it unfolding.
真正的传承，也许是当下一代遇见它之后，开始用自己的语言、自己的创造，以及新的技术与连接方式，让它继续发生。
This time, starting from Shi Dunyu’s art and life, we invite women creators from different cultures and generations into a conversation across borders.
这一次，我们将从史敦宇的艺术与人生出发，与来自不同文化、不同世代的女性创作者展开一场跨越边界的对话。
They may come from different countries and different fields, yet they all face the same question:
她们也许来自不同国家、不同领域，却都在面对同一个问题：
What do we carry forward — and how do we make it relevant for what’s next?

From art to technology,

Confluence Art Space is a Singapore-based gallery where artists, ideas, cultures, generations, and collectors converge.
