The Living Room: COLOSSUS — AI, Control & the Human Question
$15 in advance / $20 at the door
The Living Room: A TV of Tomorrow Salon is an intimate evening of film, science fiction, artificial intelligence, technology and conversation—exploring how popular culture imagined AI long before it became part of everyday life.
Featuring a screening of the prophetic AI classic Colossus: The Forbin Project, the evening also unearths obscure and hard-to-find clips from films, television, games and online media that eerily foreshadow our AI-driven present. Sometimes hopeful, sometimes cautionary, these visions keep returning to the same essential question: Where do humans fit in?
Have something to show us? We’re inviting creators to submit short videos (under 5 minutes) exploring AI, technology, science fiction, television, or our changing relationship with machines. Selected shorts may be screened during the evening. Experimental, narrative, animated, AI-generated and just plain strange are all welcome.
To submit: tracy@tvotshow.com
And then there’s the living room itself. The Ocean Room is one of those wonderfully off-the-radar San Francisco spaces you probably didn’t know was there—an eclectic, quirky two-story space filled with unusual furniture, chandeliers and unexpected objects, with a stage, big screen and full sound system. It’s less like going to a theater than stumbling into a very strange and very large living room—which makes it just about perfect for The Living Room.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
