Studio Hours: Film Support & Workspace

​​We are offering open studio hours as an additional source of support for film submissions to Water Stories.

​​Come in on these dates for project feedback, technical support, or just some quiet time to edit alongside others in a tranquil studio space:

​​Friday 2/27, 4-6pm

​Please note that this event is only for youths aged 14-26 and educators working with those ages who are interested in submitting a film project to Water Stories.

​What is Water Stories?

​This June, we’re inviting youth voices to the big screen at Water Stories – a World Oceans Day youth film showcase presented by Here On Earth, NYU Wallerstein Collaborative and partners. Whether it’s your first film or part of your growing craft, we would love to hear from you!

​​👥 Open to Ages: 14-26

​​🎥 Short Film Length: Under 5 Minutes

​​🌊 Theme: water in all its forms – a local presence, environmental issue, metaphor, relationship to nature

​​🌍 Accepting all genres and submissions worldwide

​​📅 Early Bird Deadline: Feb 27, 2026 | Regular Deadline: April 10, 2026

​​Selected films will be screened at an evening showcase in NYC around June 5, and will also be available for on-demand viewing on the Here On Earth website and social channels.

​​​The Wallerstein Collaborative For Urban Environmental Education and Sustainability was established in 2000 in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University to promote environmental literacy and sustainability by working with educators in K-12 classroom settings, graduate students, and faculty in colleges and universities.
