AI Music Video Creation, Anyone?
This month FaiGHT CLUB tackles the music video genre, the most playful and freeing format in filmmaking. We're partnering with one of Singapore's most established indie bands, who've given us a track to reimagine. Teams will go from blank page to a 60-second AI-assisted music video sequence in a single afternoon, built around a real song for a real band, with nothing to prove and everything to imagine.
This is a room of strangers becoming a crew. No hierarchy, no auteurs, no precious darlings. Just a song, a stack of tools, and a few hours to see what a group of curious humans can dream up together.
🎬 What You'll Work On
"The Song Is The Brief" (30 min)
We open by listening properly. What is the band actually saying with this track? What does it feel like, what does it want to look like, what worlds does it open up? Together we'll riff on imagery, mood, story angles, and unexpected visual entry points. No rules, no right answers, just collective imagination warming up. By the end of the half hour every participant will be brimming with ideas to bring to their team.
"Cut To The Track: Team Sprint Workshop" (60 min)
Facilitators from AI Film Lab and co-facilitators lead a hands-on team sprint built around the band's track. Strangers form teams of 4–5, rotate through the Human Open Source Bot methodology, and tackle a real production brief: build a 60-second music video sequence from concept to output in a single hour. Image, video, edit, whatever tools your team brings to the table. The only goal is to make something that feels alive, made by humans having fun together, in service of the song.

Each team screens their sequence. We celebrate what surprised us, what made us laugh, and what we couldn't have made alone.

Gavin Lim is founder of AI Film Lab, a Future of Work community exploring the intersection of AI technology and visual storytelling. A seasoned TV producer, director, and filmmaker with nearly thirty years of experience, Gavin leads practical exploration of AI tools that enhance rather than replace human creative judgment.
AI Film Lab has conducted AI filmmaking hackathons with Singapore media practitioners and led the first AI filmmaking hackathon at the Philippines' inaugural AI Festival (2025). Their approach centres on iteration over perfection and collaborative learning over isolated expertise.
