About Event

Rubanomics is a Global South initiative aimed at unlocking growth in rural and peri-urban economies by leveraging the convergence of talent, technology, and entrepreneurial spirit. This event is designed to move from diagnosing the key challenges faced by rural and peri-urban economies to actionable solutions, with a focus on AI as a tool for economic growth. On the sidelines of the Skoll World Forum, the Global Rubanomics forum will bring together high-impact leaders, strategic funders, technologists, and development actors to co-create solutions that can be implemented and scaled in the Global South.

The event will be centred around the following themes:

AI for Entrepreneurship & Livelihood
Youth & Women Empowerment in Rural Geographies
Inclusive Growth through Technology and Collaboration

By the end of the forum, the participants will co-author an Oxford Statement, a declaration that will guide future collaboration efforts and set a shared framework for addressing the market failure in rural economies.
