Bay Area Scala presents Scala Summit 2026, a one-day, community-run conference about the Scala programming language. It's a full day of talks from people who build the libraries and tools the Scala community uses every day.
Expect a wide-ranging programme. Alongside talks on the language, libraries and tooling, some sessions will look at Scala and AI: how Scala is used in industry today, and how developers use AI to be more productive with Scala.

Adam Warski (Co-founder of SoftwareMill, Head of R&D at VirtusLab) Where Scala meets AI Adam is the creator of Tapir, sttp and Ox, and has spoken at JavaOne, Devoxx and ScalaDays. His talk covers using Scala for and with AI: Metals MCP, teaching AI to write better functional Scala, and orchestrating agents with Orca, sttp-ai and chimp. He'll also answer the big question: in the age of AI, where does Scala have the upper hand?
Łukasz Biały (Scala Developer Advocate, VirtusLab) Making the AI agents safe with Scala Everyone is building AI agents, but few are solving the hard part: stopping an agent from doing the one thing it must never do, without limiting what it can do. Meet CapybaraClaw, an agent designed for safety from the start.
Bill Venners (President of Artima, lead developer of ScalaTest, co-author of Programming in Scala) What's New in ScalaTest 3.3 This is the biggest ScalaTest release since 3.0, presented by its creator. It brings type-safe test styles, composable Expectations, and a new property-based testing framework with built-in shrinking.
