Dappnode + Shutter: Threshold Encryption Running Club

​Join Dappnode and Shutter for a fun running competition. It’s one part light exercise + one part intro to running software on Dappnode, Shutter, and threshold encryption.

​And for the nerdy twist, you’ll run with friends and use real-life threshold encryption to unlock prizes.

​Here’s how it works:

• ​Participants meet at the starting point at entrance of the Palais des Festivals

• ​Receive a runner number


• ​Intro from Dappnode & Shutter teams


• ​Briefing of the threshold encryption running challenge!

​Participants will then split into three running groups based on pace. Each group will have a guide who knows the route and keeps the pace.

​Each group will also carry one-third of a secret message.

​The groups head out and complete their run. All routes take about 35 minutes and are designed to overlap so runners can see and cheer each other along the way.

​Once everyone returns, the three message fragments will be combined and decrypted together to reveal the prize. We’ll then do a lucky draw using runner numbers to select the winners.

​Practical advice:

• ​Bring a bag to EthCC with your running clothes and shoes

• ​Check your bag at the EthCC bag check during the day

• ​Collect your bag from the EthCC bag check at 16:30 - 16:55

  • ​Change into your running clothes and shoes at the EthCC venue

  • ​Put your normal clothes and shoes in your bag

• ​Meet at 17:00 at the entrance of the Palais des Festivals

  • ​During the run, leave your bag with us (we will have someone guarding all the bags)

  • ​After the run, head back to your hotel to get ready for the evening
