Sales can feel like the scariest part of running a business — especially when you’d rather redesign your logo again than pick up the phone.

But here’s the truth: it’s also the most important thing you can spend time on as a founder.

The good news? Selling doesn’t have to feel awkward or forced. With the right mindset and a few simple techniques, it can actually feel natural (and maybe even fun). Here's how the Smoothly approach works:

Part 0: Pre-session reflection (30-60 mins)

Before the practical workshop, you'll receive a pre-session workbook to complete in your own time. This helps to capture your status quo and identify gaps.

Part 1: Sales clarity & confidence (2.5 hours)
In our this session, we’ll break down the psychology behind sales, reframe the role of the sales person, and practice techniques that will help you feel and come across confident and natural. We'll talk about sales cycle foundations, how to move leads towards a decision without coming across pushy, and how to identify high-potential leads.

Part 2: From learning to landing clients (1.5 hours)
Two weeks later, we’ll regroup to keep the momentum going. You’ll bring real-world examples — what worked, what didn’t — and we’ll fine-tune your approach together. Expect practical insights, confidence boosts, and a repeatable way to sell.

This series is designed for:

  • Startup founders and first-time business owners who never saw themselves as “salespeople”

  • Researchers or tech innovators turning ideas into products or ventures

  • Anyone who’s passionate about what they do, but struggles to talk about it in a way that converts interest into action
