IRL Filmstack PDX
FilmStack PDX is a monthly in-person gathering born from the FilmStack movement—a growing network of filmmakers and storytellers reshaping independent cinema through transparency, collaboration, and proof of work. Led by Sasha Santiago out of Union Station Telegraph Room in Portland, OR.

Purpose:
To connect Portland’s creative community—filmmakers, actors, writers, musicians, and film-curious makers—who want to create and discuss films without waiting for permission. Each meet-up mixes open conversation, resource-sharing, and hands-on collaboration to help participants move their projects forward.
Format:
Community roundtable: Open discussion on the evolution of filmmaking in an AI-powered world.
Show & tell: Share what you’re building—scripts, cuts, ideas—and what support or resources you need.
Scene lab: Optional creative pairing for actors, writers, and directors to develop short works between meetings.
Watch & reflect: Local screenings or works-in-progress followed by group insight.
Goals:
Build a sustainable, self-reliant film culture in Portland.
Foster cross-industry collaboration and mentorship.
Create a loop of production, exhibition, and reflection at the community level.
Publish insights and outcomes to the broader #FilmStack network to inspire other local chapters.
