Skillshare Teacher Meet-Up — LA Art Date on Thursday, September 17!
If you've ever wanted to meet your fellow Skillshare teachers IRL, this is your chance. We're excited to invite you to the Skillshare Teacher Meet-Up — LA Art Date on Thursday, September 17, 4–7pm!
We are capping off our Side Quest Summer with one last creative outing in Los Angeles. This meet-up gives you a few hours to log off, get out into nature, and make things alongside other teachers who get it. We'll be at Los Angeles State Historic Park, right by Chinatown. Let’s enjoy the good light and connect with nature as we create together!
The first 15 teachers to arrive will receive $20 to spend at the Farmers' Market and give back to our local community.
Drop in for part of the evening or stay the whole time – whatever fits your day. We've got programming from 4–7pm, with the option to keep the evening going with drinks after. Also, the park is dog-friendly, so your creative sidekick is more than welcome 🐾

🗓 Itinerary
4pm — Arrivals, settle in, icebreakers
5pm — Mimi will guide a creative activity
5:30pm — Time to wander & explore, shop the Farmers' Market for inspiration
6pm — Collective time to create
7pm — Optionally, head to Highland Park Brewery for a closing drink!
☀️ Heads up: if it's a hot day, we'll shift things over to the brewery early to stay cool and keep the good vibes going.
🅿️ Parking & getting there: Paid lot on-site ($2/hr or $8/day), plus free street parking nearby. If taking public transport, the Metro L (Gold) Line stops right at Chinatown, near the park entrance.
🎒 What to bring: Your phone or camera, a sketchbook or whatever creative tool you prefer, water, and a layer for once the sun dips.
👣 Expect to walk up to a mile around the park. If you have any accessibility needs, reach out to Nicola.
📷 We'll be taking some casual photos to share on Skillshare channels — nothing formal, just candid moments of everyone making and hanging out together.
