A Craft Class with Gabrielle Calvocoressi
Gabrielle Calvocoressi is the author of The New Economy (2025), current finalist for The National Book Award in Poetry, Rocket Fantastic (2018), winner of the Audre Lorde Prize for Lesbian Poetry, Apocalyptic Swing (2009), and The Last Time I Saw Amelia Earhart (2005).
They are the senior poetry editor at Los Angeles Review of Books and teach at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Calvocoressi is also the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships including a Stegner Fellowship and Jones Lectureship from Stanford University, the Bernard F. Conners Prize from The Paris Review, and a residency from the Civitella di Ranieri Foundation, among others.
In this session, we will read and discuss the poems of others as a basis for generating our own writing in the second hour. Join us for a chance to work with a generous and inspiring poetic force.
