Bronx Procurement Access Forum: Creating Pathways for Local and MWBE Businesses to Access Procurement Opportunities
The Bronx Procurement Access Breakfast is a solutions-oriented convening designed to connect Bronx-based small businesses and MWBEs with real, near-term procurement and partnership opportunities from major institutions, including universities, cultural organizations, hospitals, and large service providers.
Too often, local businesses are told to “get certified” or “get registered,” but are not given a clear understanding of how institutional purchasing actually works. This breakfast changes that.
The program will begin with a moderated panel featuring institutional decision-makers who will provide a plain-language overview of:
• How purchasing decisions are made
• How opportunities are identified and shared
• What procurement teams look for in local vendors
• How small and MWBE firms can position themselves to compete and grow
The conversation will focus on practical pathways outlining how local businesses can realistically partner with large institutions to build capacity, increase competitiveness, and strengthen local wealth creation.
The convening will conclude with structured technical assistance and one-on-one engagement opportunities. Procurement leaders will share upcoming contracting needs, onboarding processes, timelines, and expectations.
This is more than a networking event. It is an intentional effort to demystify institutional procurement, increase transparency, and create measurable pathways for Bronx-based businesses to access opportunity and build long-term, sustainable partnerships.
