DC SALON: Is there a moral aesthetic?
Every month Liberties Journal hosts a Salon at which attendees together ask and answer a provocative question inspired by a recent or upcoming essay in Liberties.
January's Salon on Is there a moral aesthetic? was inspired by the essay that James Wolcott wrote for Liberties Volume 6, Issue 2. Read the essay here.
As always:
Doors will open at 6:30.
We will start our discussion at 7.
If you would like to prepare an opening statement, please let Celeste know ahead of time.
Pizza will be made available — please BYOB (or BYOS — snacks also welcome).
Please take the painful weeks of waiting until we meet to meditate on the topic, prepare your thoughts, form judgments, and find sources to enliven our discussion. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
If you think of a relevant text, film, piece of music or art write to us and we will post it on the @readliberties instagram.
