What 350+ Projects Taught Us About Scaling Innovation

​Since 2009, Emissions Reduction Alberta has invested more than $1 billion across 350+ innovation projects spanning 14 industries. When you examine hundreds of those journeys together, across different industries, technologies, leadership teams, and market conditions, patterns begin to emerge. Some projects accelerate faster than expected. Others stall despite strong technical results. Some secure follow-on capital and commercial partnerships with momentum. Others struggle to move beyond successful pilots. Recently, we stepped back to study what those projects could collectively teach us about commercialization. 
 
Emissions Reduction Alberta is hosting a Lunch and Learn event to share our commercialization learnings and educate Startup Week participants about the journey to success. In this event, ERA will support Edmonton's Startup community by offering insights from our unique perspective from funding organizations across various industries. ERA leadership will give a presentation on commercialization learnings, showcase startup success stories from within our portfolio, and provide time for questions from attendees. Startup Week members looking to learn best practices and meet others in the startup ecosystem to spur ideas, connections, and partnerships are encouraged to attend. Lunch will be provided.
