OpenOnion & Build Club Sydney: Agent Skills co-working session
The theme is show your Agent skills
The idea is simple. You show up with whatever you're working on - a startup, a side project, a song, a research paper, a design, an experiment, literally anything - and you spend an afternoon building alongside other people doing the same.
At the end, anyone who wants to can stand up and share what they worked on. 2 minutes. Quick and casual. No pressure, but if you've got something to show, the room wants to see it.
This isn't a networking event. There are no panels. No keynotes. Just a room full of people doing the work.
Co-hosted with ConnectOnion and UNSW Founders at the Michael Crouch Innovation Centre.
What to expect:
12:00 - Doors open, settle in, say hi 12:30 - Everyone intros + what they're working on 1:00 - Heads down. Build. 3:30 - Break - get up, network, grab refreshments 4:00 - Back to work 5:00 - Demos 6:00 - Event wraps, get dinner outside
40 spots. First come, first served.
Whether you're writing code, designing something, making music, writing, researching, prototyping - if you're building something and want a room full of other builders around you while you do it, this is your afternoon.
Bring your laptop. Bring your project. Bring your headphones if you need focus.
FAQ
Who should come? Anyone building something. Doesn't matter what it is - tech, creative, research, business, art. If you're making something and want dedicated time to work on it surrounded by other makers, you're welcome here.
Do I have to demo? Nope. Demos are optional. If you want to share what you worked on, you'll get 2 minutes. If you just want to build in peace, that's completely fine.
What's the difference between Open and Core? Build Club runs both every month. Open is the wide room - 40 people, anyone building anything, demos optional. Core is the intimate room - 20 people, curated, everyone demos, tighter format. Open is the on-ramp. Core is the deep room.
Is there food? Drinks provided. UNSW has plenty of food options nearby - grab something before you arrive or duck out during the session.
I'm not technical, can I still come? Yes. Open is for anyone building anything. You don't need to be an engineer.
Is this free? Yes.
