About Event

Join us for this unforgettable evening as Project Mariri returns to offering live sound experiences in Toronto — and celebrates its debut event at Pluto, our new creative home. Together, we open a new chapter of gatherings rooted in sound, presence, and community.

To illuminate this special night, we are deeply honoured to welcome Gary Diggins — poet, multi-instrumentalist, and master of sound and word weaving. His presence brings depth, warmth, and a touch of magic, merging story and vibration into living prayer.

We will journey through waves of tone and texture, listening not only with our ears but with our whole beings. Each moment will be improvised and alive — a co-creation between artists and audience, between earth and breath, between the seen and the unseen.

Expect an evening of immersive soundscapes, poetic resonance, and heartfelt improvisation — a space to soften, listen, and reconnect with the pulse that moves through us all.

💝 Participants will be treated to a complimentary Signature Pluto Chocolate delight, lovingly prepared by Stacey Burgess and more chocolate goodies will be available for purchase at the end of the event.

☕ Warm herbal tea will be served.

🕯️ Bring a cushion, blanket, or mat if you’d like to recline during parts of the experience.

About Gary Diggins:

Gary Diggins began his musical career in the Detroit area working as an opening act for performers ranging from Alice Cooper to Sly and the Family Stone. In his early twenties, Gary met a Columbian shaman. That encounter shifted his orientation from the performing arts to the healing arts. His interdisciplinary studies led him into the fields of psychology, spiritual directorship, grief counselling, and ethnomusicology.

For the past four decades, he has maintained an expressive arts practice that blends the therapeutic use of sound with counselling. His service is called Soundwork as Soulwork. As an educator, Gary has taught internationally at various learning institutes and universities. He mentors practitioners in person as well as online.

Gary’s has written five books related to music as medicine. His current guidebook, is entitled Liminality - Traversing the In-Between - A Guidebook for Therapists and Expressive Arts Practitioners.

Gary plays a range of acoustic instruments collected from around the world. His musical collaborations have taken him to India, Africa, Europe, South Korea, Israel, and throughout North America, including a performance at New York’s Carnegie Hall. Gary and his family currently live on a rural property near Meaford, Ontario with three cats and a dog named Sita.

About Project Mariri:

Project Mariri is a collaboration between Mariya Garnet and Masha Andreeva, rooted in their longstanding dedication to using music as medicine. Their sound journeys arise from the meeting point of intuitive artistry, traditional wisdom, and contemporary therapeutic practice — creating immersive spaces for deep listening, release, and renewal.

Their experience with traditional healing modalities of South and North America and Eurasia informs their shared values: that nature is sacred, and that all beings are interconnected in the vast web of life on Mother Earth.

Drawing from years of traditional apprenticeship and formal education in psychology and psychotherapy, Masha and Mariya create sound experiences that are both safe and transformative — spaces where individuals and groups can journey inward through vibration, emotion, and presence.

Mariri” means Force of Nature or Forest in the languages of Indigenous peoples of the Amazon. The name carries their belief that nature itself is sacred and that we are an inseparable part of it. It also stands as a tribute to their work with plant medicines and the living spirit of the Earth that inspires their art.
