Discover diverse pathways to meaningful climate work as four Work on Climate community members from various climate and sustainability sectors divulge their transitions and strategies for overcoming ecosystem barriers.
Each speaker has 10 minutes to share their success story and answer a few questions. This will be followed by a breakout room session, where you can connect directly with the speakers and other attendees!

Paul Zelizer
Since 1993, Paul has worked with 30,000+ leaders driving positive change. He is one of New Mexico's most experienced business coaches and specializes in supporting climate tech and impact-driven founders.
Paul is the host of the Awarepreneurs Podcast, the longest running social entrepreneur podcast in the world. In New Mexico, he has helped grow impact-focused ventures through New Mexico Angels and as a Business Coach for SBA THRIVE.
In 2024, Paul co-founded NMClimate, a network accelerating New Mexico’s emergence as a climate tech hub. They connect founders, investors, and innovators building solutions in clean energy, water, and sustainability.
Puja Balachander
Puja Balachander is a climate tech founder and investor, focused on accelerating high-impact decarbonisation. She is the CEO and co-founder of UpGreen, a platform advancing retrofit adoption in commercial real estate, and Director of Venture at Carbon13, where she supports pre-seed and seed-stage climate startups.
An exited founder with a background in product and commercial leadership, Puja previously led product at Think of Us and was Founder/CEO of Devie (acquired). She began her career driving public sector innovation at the World Bank, the White House Presidential Innovation Fellows, and the City of Austin.
Leslie Field
Dr. Leslie Field is an innovator and educator who has devoted the past 20 years to working and teaching on climate. She earned BS and MS degrees in Chem E from MIT and MS and her PhD in EECS from UCB, and has taught on climate at Stanford for the past 15 years. Her climate research is focused on glacial ice and frameworks for small-scale, low-risk, ethical, transparent and co-led field tests of proposed ice preservation methods.
Anthony Ighomuaye
Anthony Ighomuaye is the visionary Founder of Cavlom Enterprise.
They started by simply taking old vehicles and repurposing them from gasoline to electric, so that they could be used to power homes in sub-Saharan Africa (this is already available in Tesla and the ford rivian) and now they bring this tech to the bottom 1 billion.
Now they have 5 units running and are on their way to convert the 2 million gasoline rickshaws into mobile power solutions for low-income households in sub-Saharan Africa.
