In honor of International Women’s Day, this month’s InnerMost Mixer will explore the theme Reimagining Women’s Mental Health. We’re honored to welcome Julie Holland, MD, for a conversation examining new perspectives on women’s mental health in a changing world—from hormonal and social influences to emerging models of care, including psychedelic-assisted therapy.
Dr. Holland is a psychiatrist, author, and leading voice in psychedelic medicine. With more than two decades of clinical experience, she is widely recognized for her work at the intersection of mental health, neuroscience, gender, and consciousness exploration.
She was formerly a weekend attending physician at Bellevue Hospital’s Psych ER. While now a medical advisor to MAPS, she was a medical monitor for several clinical studies examining the efficacy of using MDMA-assisted psychotherapy or cannabis in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Dr. Holland sits on multiple scientific advisory boards of cannabis and psychedelic companies and is a member of the International Society for Substance Assisted Psychotherapy. She has authored several influential books, including her newest book, Good Chemistry: The Science of Connection, from Soul to Psychedelic.
