Goe no more to Brainford
Goe no more to Brainford
vnlesse you loue a Punke
for that wicked sinnefull towne
hath made me drunke
come follow me.
Thomas Ravenscroft (1609)
Goe no more to Brainford is Minimum Labyrinth's ninth London walk. We go westward, to the old town of Brentford: more ancient than London, and on occasion more noisome. Join us for tranquil rivers, art deco wonders, proper pubs, and a poignant history of transience and travel.
Frequently asked questions
What are the two ticket types? The Standard ticket is £24.50, and there is also a Concession rate of £17.50 (for students, unemployed or low income).
Where is the meeting point? The walk starts from Syon Lane Station at 11:25. If you are travelling from London, join us on the 10:52 (Saturday) or 10:50 (Sunday) from Waterloo: we will be in the carriage at the very rear of the train. If more convenient, jump on the rear carriage at Vauxhall or Clapham Junction, or anywhere along the route. Or make your own idiosyncratic way to Syon Lane Station for 11:25.
Where do we end up? The walk finishes at a pub near Kew Bridge Station (on the same line from Waterloo).
How much walking is there? The total length of the walk is 7km with three pub stops along the way.
How long does the walk take? I haven't timed it yet, but my educated guess is five and a half hours including three pub stops along the way.
What about lunch? We'll make a longer stop at the second pub, about 13:30, which does a small selection of first-rate pizzas.
Is the walk suitable for wheelchairs? Yes. There are a few areas where steps will pose a mild challenge, and the pubs have variable accessibility, but you will have a large group with you who are always delighted to help surmount any challenges.
Are there going to be any other dates? You can sign up to the mailing list at Minimum Labyrinth to be the first to hear about future dates for this walk.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? No. We suggest that this event is more suitable for over-12s.
What's the refund policy? Tickets refundable 30 days before the event. If you need to swap with another advertised date we will do our best to help, but you won't be able to 'bank' your ticket for a future unadvertised event.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No, your name will be on the list.
