About Event

Early-stage startups raising under $10M are increasingly overlooked by large venture funds — and that gap has created space for a new model: the solo GP.

In this live, conversational webinar, we’ll explore how solo general partners are building fast, lean funds designed to serve founders earlier, move quicker, and win deals through relationships rather than heavy processes.

Join Alexander Bartolini, Solo GP and early-stage investor, and Sasha Batica, CFA, solo entrepreneur and operator, for an honest discussion on what it really takes to build — and back — companies in underserved early-stage markets.

We’ll cover:

  • Why larger funds have pulled away from small-ticket early-stage deals

  • How the solo GP model creates speed, trust, and founder-first alignment

  • What founders actually value in early-stage investors

  • The operational and fundraising realities of running a solo GP fund

  • How LP risk, continuity, and trust are addressed in lean fund structures

Whether you’re an emerging or solo GP, an LP exploring new fund models, or a founder navigating early fundraising decisions, this session will offer practical insights from both the investor and operator perspective.

About panellists :

Alexandre Bartolini is a Private Credit professional and Bootstrap Europe’s first alumni, with a track record exceeding $1.6bn across multiple jurisdictions and stages. He is now launching GPI, Europe’s first solo-GP Growth Lender dedicated to the underserved lower mid-market. Where others see small tickets, GPI sees asymmetric returns.

At GPI, the strategy combines senior secured loans with warrant upside, effectively bridging the worlds of venture and private credit. The fund is designed to deliver quarterly distributions to LPs, targeting full capital payback within five years while preserving meaningful equity upside. In short, GPI helps founders keep their ownership and LPs keep their sleep.

Sasha Batica is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mara, a leading solution provider for structuring private-market investments. Through Mara, Mr. Batica is advancing access to private markets by delivering institutional-grade solutions that simplify SPV formation, investor onboarding, and administration, empowering clients to raise and deploy capital with efficiency and transparency.
