Nutcracker Twirl
Join our Holiday Dance Class, free and open to all! ✨
This was so much fun last year - let's do it again! Join us for an hour of music, dancing and fun!
Not everyone gets to attend the magic of the Nutcracker, so I wanted to create a little event for your kids to learn about the story and dance around a bit.
To create that holiday feeling, feel free to dress your littles up in Christmas outfits!
Think of this as a little dance class and a holiday celebration!
We will read the story of the Nutcracker, and learn some of the moves of the battle scene (soldiers and mice), the snow scene (snowflakes), and also of the land of the sweets (sugarplum).
Kids of all ages are welcome (past year ages ranged from 1-8), even the babies probably will enjoy the music, feel free to bring a blanket for babies to lie on.
My WHY: I wanted to host this because I find the ballet world to be quite inaccessible. $100 for tickets, lots of time commitment, and sacrifice for parents. Dance brings so much joy - I'd like to have a lower barrier to kids enjoying it. Often time the Nutcracker is what inspires kids to want to dance in general (it inspired me to choose it as a career), so I wanted to be able to share it with your kiddos.
Also - selfishly I will get to see all my friends who are parents, AND you can meet each other and make new friends with families that have kids of similar ages. I think it'll be so lovely and if it goes well I'd like to do this each Christmas season.
Feel free to invite any of your friends who have young ones. I think the median age right now for kids coming is 2-8. It is open to all, and as always, free of charge for all.
Note: this event will be in English, but dance is a universal language so anyone can follow along.
