Some more info about general magic:
General Magic, a 1990s Apple spin-off founded by the early Macintosh team, built the “Magic Link” personal intelligent communicator and the “Magic Cap” operating system, creating a precursor to the modern smartphone 15 years too early. They pioneered touchscreens, icons, email, and early app ecosystems, essentially inventing the “Post-PC” mobile, touchscreen world.
While the company dissolved in 2002, its team members went on to create the iPod, iPhone, Android, eBay, and Nest – helping build modern computing as we know it.
