​Anna Vulaj Fitzsimmons has over 27 years of experience in marketing, communications, economic development and government contracting. Since 2008, she has been helping businesses throughout Upstate New York successfully sell to the government, serving as Program Director since 2015, and prior as Business Development Manager. Anna has successfully expanded the territory to include the 13 counties surrounding Buffalo – Rochester – Syracuse. This strategic alignment focuses on critical technology areas in advanced manufacturing, micro-electronics, innovative technologies and more.

​The APEX Accelerator helps businesses target the government contract arena including critical technology areas, submit responsive bids, and post award compliance - sustaining the supply chain. The collaborations, networking, training and input provided has increased opportunities for businesses to bid on government contracts, resulting in MCUNY APEX clients receiving $4.1 billion in government contract awards in the past five years.
