SAARI Founder Showdown Trivia & Curry Night, powered by Blackbird
Description
It’s time to trivia. Your night where mostly useless knowledge becomes incredibly useful.
The SAARI Founder Showdown is an official Blackbird Sunrise side event.
A trivia-style night bringing together founders, operators, investors and creatives from across the startup community — with diverse South Asian founders at the centre.
It’s social, a little competitive, and genuinely fun. A night where builders get to brag about the obscure rabbit holes they’ve gone down.
Come with a team, or come solo — we’ll match you up on the night. Each team member just needs their own ticket!
On the night
Startup-themed trivia — from well-known wins to questionable ideas
“Real or bullshit” — can you tell the difference?
A spicy food round for the brave (or reckless)
Final round: find and pitch the worst app on the internet
Food & drinks
Curry night menu available (pre-order recommended)
South Asian-inspired cocktail and mocktail
Bar open throughout
Prize
🏆 $300 for the winning team — plus the satisfaction of knowing you were right all along
Who it’s for
Founders, operators, investors and creatives and everyone — especially those who want to meet others across the South Asian and broader startup community, without the usual networking drinks.
Details
Limited to 60 people
Meet SAARI members — some of the most interesting South Asian founders in Australia — and connect with the wider startup community
Not everyone gets in — just the truest trivia nerds
Expect a few right answers, a few terrible guesses, and at least one team taking this far too seriously.
See you there.
