Whitepaper Reading Club: Intent-Based Markets
We’re kicking off Whitepaper Reading Club in Lagos 👋🏼
If you’re the kind of person who wants to actually understand protocols (not just repeat threads), pull up. This is for builders, and research and curious folks who want to go to the source and debate the assumptions, incentives, and failure modes.
Topic: What are Intents and How are they designed?
Intents change the usual flow of transactions. Instead of “submit exact transactions,” users say, “here’s the outcome I want.” Execution is then handled by competitive solvers/relayers.
We’ll discuss:
Real world applications from UniswapX, NEAR intents, CoW Protocol, and Cets and more.
Test the idea: what’s the minimal definition of an intent? What exactly gets outsourced — matching, routing, settlement?
Which design choices matter most for incentives and safety?
