On the FLIP Side: Understanding Canadian Politics for Climate Action
Curious about how federal and municipal-level Canadian politics and government really work? Looking for ways to more meaningfully participate and engage in environmental and climate issues?
Join us for a Future Leaders in Politics (FLIP) workshop as part of Toronto Climate Week!
This FLIP session will be led by youth from the current Environmental Leadership Canada intern cohorts: the Parliamentary Internship for the Environment (PIE) and Municipal Climate Internship (MCI) programs.
Young people (targeted at age 18-30, but others are welcome) are invited to join us for this dynamic day-long event. Whether you’re new to politics or already a passionate advocate, this is your chance to explore, share your experiences, and build new skills. We’ll dive into the nitty-gritty of federal and municipal Canadian governments with a focus on climate advocacy, and then spend the afternoon putting our learnings into practice. All are welcome!
Come for the learning, stay for the energy—change starts here!
Lunch will be provided. Please register in advance for planning purposes.
About the Host: Environmental Leadership Canada (ELC) aims to build a new generation of young leaders and boost the capacity of everyday Canadians to advocate for their communities and work towards a more sustainable future for all. We do this through our national environment and climate- focused political and leadership development internships for youth, civic engagement activities and educational tools. Our initiatives provide skills and knowledge to strengthen environmental and civic literacy amongst existing and emerging change-makers.
