Force of Water: Community-Led Solutions to the Climate Crisis
What can we learn from a Chachi Indigenous community organizing to build their own water system? How can we support community-led solutions from halfway around the world?
Join us for a film and discussion on community-led solutions to the climate crisis - both local and global.
The evening will begin with a screening of Force of Water, a documentary by Green Empowerment that follows two communities in Ecuador and Uganda as they build their own water systems. Through the perspectives of community members, local leaders, and project partners, the film reveals what is possible when communities have the tools, resources, and autonomy to shape their own futures. Along the way, we also see the vital role of women's leadership in building climate resilience and strengthening local systems.
Following the film, we'll join leaders from Green Empowerment and the Bend Climate Collective for a conversation on the power of community-led climate action and what it takes for local solutions to thrive. We'll close the evening with curated networking, an opportunity to connect with neighbors and continue the conversation about building a more resilient future.
