🎨Zine Making Workshop at RiverFest!
​CELEBRATE THE LA RIVER COMMUNITY AT RIVERFEST 2026
​Friends of the Los Angeles River is hosting their fifth annual RiverFest – a FREE open-air environmental arts and community festival celebrating the culture, history, and people that shape the LA River.
​This year's RiverFest will feature lots of local artists, thrilling live performances, an environmental art gallery and a bustling marketplace. There will also be some new interactive eco-activities for the whole family and delicious food from some of L.A.'s best food trucks.

​🎨Zine Making Workshop
​Climate Designers LA is one of RiverFest's Arts Corner partners, and we will be hosting a zine making workshop! Participants of all ages will create and take home a zine they design, inspired by the LA River ecology.
​We will guide the participants throughout the whole zine-making process - exploring different methods, mediums, inspirations, and providing prompts to guide you through topics you’d like your zines to explore.
​So invite your favorite Angelenos and come celebrate with us!
​Frequently Asked Questions
​Is the event family-friendly? Absolutely! There are activities for all ages.
​What kind of activities will there be? Expect live music, eco-education booths, hands-on workshops, food trucks, and more.
​Will there be food and drinks available? Yes, a variety of food trucks and beverage vendors will be on-site.
​What should I bring with me? A refillable water bottle, sunscreen, a blanket or low chair, and comfy clothes.
​Is there parking available? Yes. Parking Passes for preferred lots are available for purchase. VIP ticket holders will receive access to a VIP lot. There is limited street parking available nearby.
​Can I take public transportation? Yes! The park is directly across from the Metro Gold Line’s Chinatown Station.
​Are pets allowed? Yes, well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. Please bring waste bags.
Is the venue accessible? Yes. The park is ADA accessible and we aim to make the event welcoming for all.
Will there be shade or seating? There will be limited shade and seating throughout the park. We encourage you to bring your own picnic blanket or low chairs.
​Do I need to print my ticket? No need to print; we can check you in via QR code on your phone or the email you used to register.
​Is re-entry allowed? Yes, but please check in at the entrance again if you leave and return.
​Will there be any giveaways? Yes! Many of our community partners and sponsors will have activities, freebies, and we’ll be conducting a Raffle throughout the day.
​No outside food/drink or alcohol will be allowed into RiverFest. With exception of water and refillable water bottles. Medical exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
Event security will conduct bag checks at all RiverFest check-in locations.

​Friends of the LA River (FoLAR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in California in 1986, whose mission is to protect and restore the natural and historic heritage of the Los Angeles River and its riparian habitat.
​Climate Designers is a global design community hub for creative professionals from all industries, committed to supporting designers to be climate leaders everywhere they work. Climate Designers empowers designers to learn, connect, and act on climate solutions to actively co-create a just and regenerative world.
