Fuckup Nights Groningen
Failure. Laughs. Lessons. And a rocket engine.
Building a startup? Spoiler: it gets messy. At Fuckup Nights, founders share the stuff most people skip: flops, mistakes, faceplants, and how they kept going anyway. It’s raw, relatable, and kind of hilarious (in a “that could’ve been me” kind of way).
This event’s for anyone who’s ever wondered: what happens when things don’t go as planned? Short answer? You learn. You adapt. You maybe cry a little. Then you build better.
What to expect:
A founder takes the mic and walks you through the times things went very sideways, plus what they figured out in the chaos. There’s room for Q&A, awkward laughs, and honest chats about the not-so-shiny side of trying to build something.
Meet The Speakers:
Steef Steeneken
Co-founder of Butter Bridge, a technology consultancy focused on extractive metallurgical processes and critical raw materials. Steef will share insights into building in a complex, technical industry - including the challenges, setbacks and lessons learned along the way.
Bob Graafsma
Co-owner of robingood, a company creating social impact by recycling and refurbishing IT hardware. Bob brings a perspective on sustainability, circular business and the realities of turning impact-driven ideas into scalable solutions.
Why come?
• You want the real story, not just the LinkedIn version
• You’re curious how people bounce back from failure
• You’re thinking about starting something, but not sure what’s normal
• You like learning from other people’s mistakes (smart move)
What’s with the rocket part? 🚀
At this event, you’ll collect The Engine: the second piece of your miniature rocket. It’s not just a random souvenir. Every rocket needs fuel, and every founder needs resilience. The Engine represents that drive to keep going, even when things get messy.
If you came to a BLT, you’ve already got The Flame. Keep going and collect all four rocket parts (Flame, Engine, Body, Cockpit) by attending all our Future Founder events.
Fuckup Nights are your reality check in the best way. Come for the chaos, stay for the insight, and walk away one step closer to building something real.
