Shop Class: Design & Press a T-Shirt
Learn to Use a Vinyl Cutter and Heat Press to Customize Your Own T-Shirt 👕
Create your own T-shirt design for vinyl cutting and make it permanent with a heat press in this 1.5 hour class where you'll learn (and practice) the creative process for customizing clothing with heat-transfer vinyl.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create a graphic design, cut it on a vinyl cutter, weed it, and press it onto a shirt you bring. You’ll leave with your customized shirt.
🛠️ WHAT YOU'LL DO
Create a bold, press-ready graphic (text-based or simple shapes)
Learn how to set up and operate a vinyl cutter
Cut your design in heat-transfer vinyl (HTV)
Weed your vinyl cleanly for crisp lines
Heat press your design onto a T-shirt with the correct temperature, pressure, and timing
🎓 WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
How to design specifically for HTV (what works + what doesn’t)
Vinyl cutting workflow: file setup → cut settings → weeding
Heat press technique (alignment, layering, avoiding scorch/peel issues)
Tips for making your shirt look polished, not homemade
