Keb Cerda and María Elena Pombo in Conversation with Dr. Vivian Crockett

​Join us on Thursday August 15 at 6pm at Nunu Fine Art for a discussion featuring two artists from our exhibition, Keb Cerda and María-Elena Pombo, moderated by Dr. Vivian Crockett, Allen and Lola Goldring Curator at the New Museum. The conversation will focus on how culture influences artistic practice, and their use of and relationship with technology in their art.

​Dr. Vivian Crockett is currently the Allen and Lola Goldring Curator at the New Museum and is co-curating the 2026 edition of the New Museum Triennial. She is a Brazilian-American scholar and curator focusing largely on modern and contemporary art of African diasporas, Latinx diasporas, and the Americas at the varied intersections of race, gender, and queer theory.

​Keb Cerda is a contemporary visual artist whose work blurs the boundaries between traditional painting and digital media, often merging oil on canvas with video game aesthetics, augmented reality, and interactive installations, tackling contemporary themes such as media addiction, surveillance, and systemic failure.

​María-Elena Pombo is an interdisciplinary artist with a research-based practice centered around participatory actions. She transforms and re-contextualizes ubiquitous materials through conceptual installations, sculptures, videos, and performances that seek to dismantle hegemonic narratives and create alternative ones.
