Giants Do Fall: Free Community Screening + Q&A

Join the Community Sentinel Awards in New Orleans for an intimate, free community screening of GIANTS DO FALL, the new documentary from Peak Plastic Foundation, fresh from its world premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival. After the film, stay for a Q&A with the filmmakers and The Descendants Project.

GIANTS DO FALL is a set of intimate portraits of resistance: a matriarch-led movement across the country pushing back against the giants of the fossil fuel industry, and winning. What first look like separate struggles in Appalachia and the Gulf South come together as one fight to build the power to fall giants. Told from the perspective of people on the frontlines of harm, it is a film about ordinary people made extraordinary by their actions.

Featuring Jo and Joy Banner (The Descendants Project), Bobby and Tish Taylor (Concerned Citizens of St. John), Shamyra Lavigne (RISE St. James), Barbara Washington and Gail LeBoeuf (Inclusive Louisiana) with Myrtle Felton, and Janice Blanock, Sarah Martik and Lois Bjornson from southwestern Pennsylvania.

The screening is the night before the 2026 Community Sentinel Awards for Environmental Stewardship, also in New Orleans.

Free and open to all. Please RSVP so we can save you a seat.
