About Beware the Car! (1966)
A Soviet Robin Hood grapples with hypocrisy, corruption, and amateur theater, in a genre pastiche of noir detective movies. Certifiably delightful: easily watchable for its main plot, while also clever and biting in its commentary.
Ryazanov’s work is credited with establishing Soviet political satire as a film genre in the 60s.
