About Event

Real-time data at scale is powerful, but it rarely stays simple for long.

As event-driven architecture and streaming data adoption grows across teams and use cases, the platform often shifts from being a source of speed and autonomy to something harder to control. More topics, more consumers, more dependencies, and more production demands can quickly create sprawl, unclear ownership, rising costs, and operational risk.

At this event, we explore what it actually takes to scale real-time data platforms in a way that remains usable, governable, and valuable over time.

We are building a community around data, integrations, and systems. If you work in this space, this is the place for you. Our events focuses on connecting people, lots of discussions and two short talks for inspiration.

Pizza and drinks will be served 🍕🥤

Talk 1: Slow down to Speed up

Establishing an event-driven data platform can provide a lot of value for an IT organization: high-throughput, reliable infrastructure that robustly can decouple producers and consumers of data. In a dream-scenario you have created tons of high-value data-streams that enable all sorts of interesting use-cases. But adding on more and more topics with more and more consumers could also easily become a mess, or in the worst case... a liability. In this session we will explore how to put in place the right tools and processes to enable just the right amount of structure for a particular organisation.

TALK 2: Governing Event Endpoints at Scale

Keeping endpoints accessible, documented, and secure can become its own challenge. Magnus from IBM walks through how endpoint decoupling, self-service access approval, and governance tooling can bring order to a sprawling landscape. Covering AsyncAPIs, event gateways, developer portals, sensitive data redaction, and schema and quota enforcement in practice.
Magnus Wettermark and Johan Hellström, IBM

Expect an evening with technical discussion, practical lessons, and conversations with others working hands-on with streaming, platform engineering, and data infrastructure.
