Climate Projects: Financing the Capital Gap

​You’ve built a breakthrough climate technology and now it’s time to finance your first commercial scale deployment.

​Getting there requires much more than venture capital. Grants, strategic partners, public financing, project financiers, infrastructure investors — each brings different expectations, different risk appetites, and different financing instruments. But what are they actually looking for? What milestones need to be in place? And how do projects become financeable?

​We kick off with a hands-on session on how projects are developed and financed, what different capital providers look for, and how financing evolves from demonstration to commercial deployment.

​The afternoon is built around interactive live financing case discussions in small-groups. Selected startups present a real project they're developing, while experienced financiers unpack the questions, milestones, risks, and financing strategies they'd explore. This is not a pitch session — the goal is not to evaluate projects for investment, but to unpack what it takes to make a project financeable. Whether you’re presenting or participating, you’ll have the chance to ask questions to learn directly how experienced financiers think through real projects.
