Raising Capital: What VCs Actually Look For
This Thursday, we’re hosting a practical, founder-focused evening at Taqwa Studios with a Omar Hedeya, a VC from Project A (€1.2B AUM).
Omar is based in Germany and is in London this week. He has been actively supporting founders and community-led initiatives, and we’re hosting him for an honest, no-nonsense session on how venture capital actually works.
The evening is designed to combine clear, honest insight with space to connect and work.
[This event is for Brothers only, and is free for Taqwa Studios members]
Session: Inside the VC Game
7:45 – 8:30pm
This is a focused, practical session on how venture capital actually works, from the other side of the table.
We’ll cover:
How VCs really evaluate founders and opportunities
What matters (and what doesn’t) when raising
Common mistakes founders make when approaching funds
How to think about timing, traction, and fund–founder fit
Practical ways to avoid wasting time chasing the wrong conversations
The aim is to help founders play the VC game intelligently, whether you’re raising now, later, or deciding if VC is even right for you.
